Downshire House, University of Roehampton

This design created over 250 en suite bedrooms across five buildings, ranging from two to five storeys in height. Internal spatial planning proposed a departure from the normal student accommodation model where kitchen and social spaces are arranged on a flat by flat basis. Instead, the design combined these social spaces into one communal area on the ground floor of each building. This resulted in a series of dynamic, social areas that aimed to enhance security and increase student interaction.
