Beard Mill, Oxfordshire

A sympathetic renovation and partial rebuild of Beard Mill, a Grade II listed water mill in Oxfordshire which originally housed two water wheels for processing grain stored in the upper floors, gave the property an exciting new role as a private residence and a state-of-the-art ultrasound clinic. With part of the original mill dating from 1575 and straddling the River Windrush, prior to renovation the building was in very poor condition, with many rotten timbers, damp walls and an asbestos roof. Happily, though, it was transformed without losing the building’s original character.
