Branksome Chine

A new bar restaurant was created out of 1920s sea front changing rooms on Poole beach. Set on the south-facing beach with views to the Isle of Wight and Studland Bay, the original building was urgently in need of attention and, despite its listed status, local conservation officers encouraged a contemporary approach to the design.
The 1920s structure was refurbished and a glazed single-storey extension added adjacent to the promenade. Like the external elevations, the interiors are bright and modern.
Branksome Chine was given a ‘Pride of Poole’ award for its design in 2003.
