Oxford Brookes’ ‘Architecture End of Year Show’ inspires again

Attending the Oxford Brookes exhibition at the start of summer was once again inspirational, with its extensive display of innovative student work. It was a pleasure for the practice to present two students with our award for Creative Originality in Design; Miriam Ayers and Eurydice Dupré. Having captivated us with their exciting approach and unique exploration of design, Eurydice’s final project explores a time in the future where the political climate is very different from that in the UK today. With access to information forbidden by the government, there is a need for an architecture which provides a safe haven for those who wish to exercise their rights to knowledge. Eurydice’s design, as seen modelled here, echoes that of a fortress with its arches and height protecting the secret activities within.
