Pembroke College, Major Academic Development
A major new development for Pembroke College in Oxford will significantly increase the size of the College and regenerate part of the City.
Berman Guedes Stretton won a national competition with a proposal for five new buildings. The winning design was unique in focusing on two new landscaped and stepped quads whereas all the other submissions concentrated all the accommodation in to a large single building.
The scheme includes an auditorium, fully equipped seminar and teaching rooms (with flexibility of use for lectures, music, drama and conferences), a large student café, as well as some 100 rooms for students and academics.
