Eynsham Hall Hotel
Berman Guedes Stretton was commissioned by the Cathedral Group to masterplan the re-development of Eynsham Hall, a Grade II listed Edwardian stately home 10 miles east of Oxford. The Gothic Revival building was purchased by the Cathedral Group in 2005 and is currently used as a hotel, conference and training centre.
It´s grandeur has been partly obscured by long periods of institutional use. From 1946-1981 it was home to the Police Training College. The Cathedral Group´s brief was to create a stimulating, contemporary, new environment which avoids the obvious clichés.
Eynsham Hall Hotel
The existing architecture of the building has been respected and enhanced, adding conference, leisure and bedroom accommodation. The resulting complex of buildings will offer a contemporary luxurious environment within a traditional setting. After extensive negotiations, planning permission was gained in 2006.
The first phase of work to remodel parts of the interior was completed in 2008. This won a European Hotel Design Award.
"Berman Guedes Stretton´s enthusiasm and consideration of the hotels needs went beyond what was expected. Their input on interior design was very valuable."
