Imperial College: Heart and Lung Research Institute.
The refurbishment of the cardiac medicine facility within the Royal Brompton Hospital medical complex created additional laboratory and office space for the National Heart and Lung Research Institute at Imperial College in London.
The Heart and Lung Research Institute occupies four floors of the Guy Scadding Building. By increasing open plan space and reducing circulation, approximately 40% more office space and 20% more laboratory space was created. The design and the specification features were chosen so that they could be easily translated across the whole complex.
